Jobye-Kyle Karmaker

Jobye is a Principal Environment Artist with over 11 years experience working in the games industry. He initially got his start working on multiplayer Source Engine mods. From there, he went professional and worked at Ubisoft Toronto, then Monolith Productions, where he worked on an array of franchises in different genres, from linear singleplayer and multiplayer games to open world games: Rainbow Six: Patriots, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. Jobye has now spent the last 4 years at Respawn Entertainment, where he shipped Star Wars – JEDI: Fallen Order and is now working on the critically acclaimed Apex Legends.
Throughout his career and through multiple projects, Jobye has built up a strong generalist background in all facets of environment art. Whether it is realistic, sci-fi or fantastic styles, foliage creation or hard-surface art, organic terrain or urban areas, chances are, he's worked in it.
Before SkillTree, Jobye has been a Mentor at for the last year and a half, providing one on one mentorships to help artists get started or further their careers.
