What's included in my mentorship with SkillTree?
You’ll have multiple one-on-one live calls with your chosen mentor. The exact amount of time of each call varies based on the preferences of the mentor and mentee, but generally there is a block of 5 hours per month that’s divided into weekly calls for mentorships, and 4 hours spread across 3 months for career coaching. Additionally, you’ll have access to the SkillTree Discord community, upcoming livestreams, and exclusive promotions. Your access to these additional perks are yours to use even after your mentorship has ended.
Why does Career Coaching span across 3 months?
High-level career topics often take time to process and integrate into your day-to-day. For this reason, we recommend short calls with a span of 2-4 weeks between sessions to properly assess progress.
What happens after I sign up?
Within 48 hours after signing up, you will be introduced to your Mentor via email. From there you will work with your mentor to set up a call schedule that works for both of you, and build a development plan to help achieve your goals.
How do the meetings take place?
Mentorship and Career Coaching meetings are 100% virtual. We will be using Discord or another similar platform with good quality voice and screen sharing options.
Can I get a curriculum?
Your mentor will assist in building a custom-tailored development plan based on your unique goals. Since each mentorship is unique and everyone’s goals are different, we don’t provide a premade curriculum.
Is SkillTree open to students?
Considering SkillTree is a young startup, our primary focus for the moment is to provide mentoring and training services to game industry professionals. Serving students, recent grads and working with educational organization is a part of SkillTree's next expansion plan.
Can I change the mentor or time after signing up?
You may request changes or cancel your booking and receive a full refund up to 7 days prior to your first mentor’s call.
